About this listen

This is not just another midlife podcast about belly fat, Botox, or bone broth.
We’re not here to help you stay young, offer makeup tips, or share recipes to sneak kale into your brownies. If you’re looking for hacks to stay small or “age gracefully,” this might not be the space for you.

We’re here to burn down the old rulebook - and help you rise from the ashes.
We unpack the invisible systems and internalized conditioning that keep midlife women stuck, over-functioning, and exhausted. We talk about the links between patriarchy, stress, and menopause symptoms. This is the conversation behind the conversation—raw, wise, and necessary.

We’re Sheri and Jen - twin sisters, former “good-girls” turned paradigm-breakers, and your new favourite midlife truth-tellers. Our unfiltered conversations crack open the things women don’t say out loud. We’re here to offer you the tools, re-frames, and permission slips to finally stop performing and start becoming.

Expect “why didn’t anyone tell me this sooner?!” kinds of insights, advice to nix your menopause symptoms without HRT, and paradigm-shifting “aha” moments that make you want to take your power back.

So if you’re ready to stop performing, and rise into the woman you were always meant to be - pull up a chair. We saved you a seat.

  • 5: The Truth About Midlife Belly Fat (and How to Fix It)
    Aug 28 2025

A huge lie we’ve been told about aging is that belly fat is just inevitable.

And of course, we would believe this, because when you look around, many midlife and older women gain weight. So, you think it’s normal and there’s nothing you can do about it. And you might try to diet off and on because part of you doesn’t want to accept it, and another part of you says, “why am I doing this when it’s just part of aging”.

The truth is that it is NOT just aging that causes belly fat. There is a very specific physiological response underneath midlife weight gain.

And the best part is that it's fixable.

Tune in to find out the whole story, the missing piece that no one is talking about, and how to turn the weight gain around.

You'll walk away from this episode with a new perspective and optimism about avoiding or losing the belly fat. Plus, the one action you can take now to shift your body starting today.

If you're ready to take action to nix your symptoms, including the weight gain, get your energy back, and live a joyful midlife, join the Midlife Red Tent program waitlist.

  • 4: The Biggest Lie You've Been Told About Aging as a Woman
    Aug 21 2025

When someone asks you how old you are, what happens? Do you cringe? Lie? Shamefully (or defiantly) tell the truth?

This cringing feeling about aging is exactly what is keeping you stuck - feeling like your body is going downhill fast, and time is running out.

You’re feeling this way because society has quietly told you that you have to fight aging at all costs.

So, you’re starting to feel invisible because you’re “less attractive”, you're busier than ever trying to prove that you can still cut it, and wishing away your peri-menopause symptoms.

This is happening because of “gendered aging”. And if you’ve bought into this concept, you’re probably trying your best to cover up the grey hair, push through the symptoms while pretending everything is fine, and wear “age-appropriate” clothing that still makes you look youthful.

If you think you might be caught in the gendered aging trap, listen to today’s conversation. You’ll walk away knowing how to recognize when you’re being subjected to the gendered aging trap, drop the shame, and reclaim the power that this lie has been stealing from you.

  • 3: Why Rest Feels Impossible: The Hidden Forces Draining Midlife Women
    Aug 14 2025

If you’re a woman over 40 juggling work, aging parents’ doctor’s appointments, and the constant pressure to be more, do more, give more - while battling symptoms like 2am wakeups, heart palpitations, or constant low energy - you may be caught in the Pronatalism Pressure Trap.

Pronatalism is the belief that a woman’s worth is tied to motherhood, and it collides with patriarchy’s obsession with productivity to leave you over-functioning, undervalued, and completely drained.

If you’re stuck here, you’ve probably been:

    • Feeling invisible or less relevant now that you are losing your fertility.
    • Trying to slow down but feeling guilty
    • Hiding your peri-menopause symptoms, especially at work.

To fix it, you may have tried to just push through with more discipline, supplements like melatonin for sleep, or essential oils for hot flashes, or scheduling a massage, only to cancel because you have too many obligations

If that's not working, listen to this episode to discover:

    • What pronatalism is, and how it is quietly driving midlife physical and emotional symptoms
    • How these systems show up in your body as stress, anxiety, and burnout.
    • Ways to start opting out, so you can reclaim your energy, rest, and joy.
