 Im dritten Kapitel unserer Michael-Mann-Retrospektive arbeiten wir uns gleich an drei Superlativen ab. Denn sein Boxer-Biopic ALI (2001) gilt vielen als unwahrscheinlichstes Werk im Oeuvre des Filmemachers. COLLATERAL (2004) hingegen wird neben HEAT (1994) oft als seine beste Regiearbeit benannt und ist nicht zuletzt Dank der Cruise'schen Starpower Manns bis dato kommerziell erfolgreichster Film. Und dann wäre da noch der gehassliebte MIAMI VICE (2006), der manchen Menschen wie ein Verrat an der schwitzigen und heißgeliebten TV-Serie vorkommt - und von anderen als heimliches Meisterwerk abgefeiert wird. Warum das alles stimmt und dann doch so gar nicht, darüber palavern wir in Spielfilm(en)länge.
