About this listen

Good afternoon. Maryland. I'm Aaron Jolly. Before we dive in. Clocks spring forward tonight. You lose an hour of sleep, but we gain an hour of daylight. Sunset tonight comes at 7:07 P.M. and we're picking up over two and a half minutes of daylight every day now. Spring equinox is just 12 days out. Step outside right now and you'll feel 52 degrees under overcast skies. Not bad for early March. But a cold front is sliding through this afternoon, bringing a few showers along for the ride. Down in Baltimore, expect mostly cloudy skies with a slight chance of showers before 3 P.M. High near 70 degrees. West winds 3 to 9 miles an hour. Central Maryland sees a better chance of rain — showers likely between noon and 3 P.M., with patchy fog mixing in. High of 66 degrees. West winds 6 to 9 miles an hour. Out west, you're in the clear. Partly sunny skies, high near 69 degrees, west winds around 9 miles an hour. Tonight, skies clear from northwest to southeast. Lows drop to the mid-40s statewide. Mostly clear and calm. Monday brings a beautiful start to the week. Sunny skies everywhere. Highs from 62 degrees in central Maryland to 69 degrees in Baltimore and the west. Tuesday warms even more — low to mid-70s under mostly sunny skies. Wednesday pushes into the mid to upper 70s, but clouds build in and rain becomes likely Wednesday night. Thursday is when things get interesting. Rain likely in the morning, possibly mixing with snow over the mountains by afternoon. Temperatures crash — highs only in the 50s with gusty west winds 15 to 20 miles an hour. That's a 31 degrees to 30 degrees drop from Wednesday. Friday stays cool. Partly sunny, low 50s. Saturday rebounds slightly. Mostly sunny, mid-50s. Enjoy the warmth while it lasts. See you this evening.
