About this listen

We are talking with Nashville based lighting designer and director Mark Carver this week on the show! Upon completing his B. A. degree in Mass Communications with emphasis in TV production and lighting design, Mark began working at the recently launched cable channel TNN: The Nashville Network. He was a staff lighting director at TNN for 16 years, working on many show formats, including entertainment, music, comedy, cooking and game shows. Throughout his wide and diverse career, Mark has been mentored and worked with some of the industry’s finest lighting designers and directors, on some of the best and biggest shows in the country, handling many pressures with skill and expertise.

In 1999, Mark founded Carver Lighting Design after seeing a great need for lighting experts who could ensure that artists looked their best when on the stage. Over the past 20+ years, he has developed an expertise in lighting design for film, television, live events and performances. He has worked on a wide array of lighting projects including political debates, award shows, concerts, and professional league sporting events.
