On August 11th, 2024, Ryan Borgwardt went kayaking on Big Green Lake in Wisconsin… and never came back.

His overturned kayak was found drifting in the water, along with his belongings scattered across the surface. In a lake nearly 200 feet deep, investigators feared he had drowned.

For 58 days, search teams combed the lake looking for answers.

Camp Hero was a real Cold War military base on the cliffs of Montauk, New York.. but once you start digging into the story behind it, things get a lot stranger.

At the very edge of Long Island sits Camp Hero, a decommissioned Cold War military base overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Officially, it was built during World War II to defend the coastline and later became a radar station designed to detect incoming Soviet aircraft.

But over time, the base became connected to one of the most disturbing conspiracy stories in American history: The Montauk Project.

According to those who claim to know the truth, Camp Hero wasn’t just a radar base. It was allegedly the site of secret government experiments involving mind control, psychological manipulation, and even time travel.

On September 22, 2006, in Pocatello, Idaho, sixteen year old Cassie Jo Stoddart agreed to house sit for her aunt and uncle. It was supposed to be a quiet Friday night. She invited friends over to watch a movie. By the end of the evening, everyone left.

Except Cassie.

Two days later, her family returned home and found her in the living room.

As investigators worked through the timeline, they uncovered something deeply disturbing. The people responsible had recorded themselves beforehand, referencing the horror movie Scream/Ghost face and discussing their desire to make their own slasher style movie. They spoke about becoming remembered. About creating something shocking.
