About this listen

In this week’s midweek service, we opened our Bibles to 1 Peter 1:23 and began unpacking the first phrase of the verse: “being born again.” This short but powerful truth raises some of the most important questions anyone can ask: What does it mean to be born again? Why does the Bible emphasize this idea so strongly? And how does it change a person’s standing before God?

To help answer those questions, we also turned to John 3:3, where Jesus spoke to Nicodemus under the cover of night and declared, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” From that conversation, we see that being born again is not about self-improvement or religious effort, but about a radical new birth that only God can bring.

This message explores how the new birth is tied to the imperishable Word of God, why it is essential for becoming a citizen of heaven, and how it reshapes both our identity and our eternal future. Whether you’ve heard the phrase “born again” many times or you’re still curious about what it really means, this teaching will give you a deeper understanding of the hope and life found in Christ.
