  • From Desperation to Hope: A Mother's Journey Through Lyme Disease

    In this episode of Lyme and Beyond with Tanya, we sit down with Eliana, a mother who shares the harrowing journey of her daughter Alexis' battle with Lyme Disease. Alexis' health issues began at age seven, manifesting initially as stomach pain and vomiting. Over time, her symptoms escalated to include excruciating pain, rashes, headaches, and fatigue, baffling numerous doctors who struggled to diagnose her condition. After an extensive and emotionally draining search for answers, Alexis was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease and multiple co-infections. Eliana recounts the various treatments, including ozone therapy and SOT, and the emotional toll the journey took on their family. She also highlights the immense support from their community, culminating in a $12,000 fundraising event. Being on the receiving end of a hand up from her community Eliana found a way to give back by starting a local community outreach non-profit "Well Watered Ministries" in Summerton, SC.
