In this poem titled Lucchi Dharti, Shiv Kumar Batalvi refers to Earth as immoral. He is talking about the gap society has created between the rich and the poor. He states the fact that the people who treat the earth as their mother and respect her are the ones who are often ignored and ill-treated. Mother earth always speaks in favor of the rich and no one bothers about the poor. Batalvi ji was very upset to see duality in the behavior.

ਸ਼ਿਵ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਬਟਾਲਵੀ ਜੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਇੱਸ ਕਵਿਤਾ - ਲੁੱਚੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਲੁੱਚੀ ਯਾਨੀ ਮਾੜਾ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ। ਇਹਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਏ ਅਮੀਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਾਸਲੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ। ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਲੋਕ ਇੱਸ ਧਰਤੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਮੰਨਦੇ ਨੇ, ਓਹਦੀ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ, ਓਹਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਕਪੁੱਤਾਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਬਰਤਾਵ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਅਮੀਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਬੇਚਾਰੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ। ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹੇ ਦੋਗਲੇ ਬਰਤਾਵ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਬਟਾਲਵੀ ਜੀ ਬੜੇ ਖ਼ਫ਼ਾ ਸੀ।

Shiv Kumar Batalvi ji apni iss kavita Lucchi Dharti mein Dharti ko Lucchi yaani bura keh rahe hai. Iss kavita mein vo hamaare samaaj mein paida hue ameero aur gareebo ke beech faasle ke baare mein baat kar rahe hai. Unka kehna hai ki jo log iss dharti ko apni maa maante hai, unki izzat karte hai, unhi ke sath hi ye dharti kapooto jaisa bartaav karti hai.
