How many times have you seen a horror movie where digital technology gains eerily human-like consciousness? Somewhere during the film ,the conversation arises [typically from a scientist who contributed to the disaster and is somehow characterized as being “morally or ethnically defunct”] states that the machine “doesn’t have a soul;” or something like that. In our culture, “technology,” as we use the word is seemingly the complete antithesis of the soul, or spiritual work.
