New Orleans Saints starters like Derek Carr may not need reps this preseason. It's unlikely that the team will deploy much of Klint Kubiak's offensive system and as seen in 2023, the hype of one drive doesn't always translate to the regular season. Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara should be kept on ice as well. Make the preseason about Jake Haener, Spencer Rattler and the other players looking for roles and roster spots.
Christian McCaffrey and Kyler Murray won't be participating in the preseason, so the Saints will have to prove they can stop the run and handle the mobile quarterback in other ways this offseason.
