    C'était en 1956 sur les ondes de France III Nationale, dans "Le théâtre et l'université", une émission placée sous le haut patronage de l'Éducation nationale. On y donnait une version radiophonique du Dom Juan de Molière, dans une mise en scène de Jean Vilar, enregistrée en public à Chaillot. Jean Vilar interprétait Dom Juan, Daniel Sorano était Sganarelle, et Monique Chaumette, Elvire. Avec eux sur scène : Georges Wilson, Georges Riquier, Philippe Noiret et Jean Topart. Cette pièce radiodiffusée, dont le deuxième acte avait été coupé, était suivie d'un débat animé par Philippe Dechartre au lycée Louis-Le-Grand. Don Juan ou Le Festin de Pierre est une comédie de Molière en cinq actes et en prose dont la "Troupe de Monsieur frère unique du roi" donna quinze représentations triomphales en février et mars 1665 sur le théâtre de la grande salle du Palais-Royal à Paris. Elle donne à suivre les trente-six dernières heures de la vie du jeune Dom Juan Tenorio, "esprit fort" et grand amateur de femmes, flanqué tout long des cinq actes de Sganarelle, valet couard, glouton et friand de disputes intellectuelles. Provocateur impénitent, Dom Juan n'échappera pas à la vengeance du Ciel, qui le châtiera par le bras d'une statue de pierre.
