 Pastor Malachi Mitchell, born and raised in San Diego, has walked a remarkable journey—from acting and modeling to city service, and now a powerful voice in ministry. In 1996, during one of the darkest times of his life, he experienced a spiritual awakening where God changed his name from Anthony Mitchell to Malachi—a name he’s affectionately known by today.

Licensed and ordained since 1984, he has served as youth pastor and co-pastor at Good Samaritan of San Diego Church alongside his family. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Christian Studies with an emphasis in Leadership from Grand Canyon University.

Together with his wife Christine, he founded Life’s Word Ministry to reach, teach, and restore hope—helping families heal, empowering the broken, and inspiring lives to change through the truth of God’s Word.

    Hearing God’s Call

    Scripture: 1 Samuel 3:10 "And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.”

    We’re living in a world full of noise—constant notifications, voices, opinions, pressure, entertainment, and distraction. With so much coming at us daily, it’s easy to wonder, “How do I know when it’s God speaking?” “How do I recognize His call?” “What if I miss His voice?” But let me reassure you—God knows how to get your attention.

    Paul said in Romans 1:16, “I am not ashamed of the gospel…” Why? Because this is the gospel, it offers more than just sound guidance. It wasn’t just inspirational teaching. It wasn’t a religious option among many. He said the Gospel “is the power of God unto salvation.”
