  • Living the Law - 250309
    Aug 23 2025

God’s law is expressed through the ten commandments in only 16 verses (see Exodus 20). Yet the principles of those ten commandments filtered through all situations in the life of the Israelites. They were living the law. Today’s lesson will investigate how these timeless principles applied to the civil laws that governed all aspects of Israelite life.

  • Covenant at Sinai - 250308
    Aug 16 2025

We often think of the Exodus story as a journey from Egypt to the Promised Land. It is true that the migration was geographical; but it was also theological. When Israel arrived at Mount Sinai, God said that He had brought them to Himself. We can be glad that our best destination is God. We search for meaning in life. We seek for it in money, in power, or in pleasure. But meaning is found in a relationship with our Maker, God Himself. At Mount Sinai, God said, “I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.” Today’s lesson will explore this God-man relationship.

  • The Bread and Water of Life - 250307
    Aug 9 2025

The Bible (in Hebrews 11:1) defines faith as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith is the assurance that things will happen just as God promises, even though our immediate surroundings may indeed be very grim. The Israelites experienced God’s power through incredible miracles when they were freed from Egyptian slavery. When they were confronted with problems, however, did those awesome miracles give them unshakeable faith in God’s providence? Today’s study will discuss the faith of the Israelites as they ventured into the wilderness.

  • The Plagues - 250304
    Jul 19 2025

The confrontation between Moses and Pharaoh to free the Israelites from slavery was dramatic, and deadly – evident from the ten plagues inflicted on Egypt. But there was much more to it: God wanted to free Pharaoh and the Egyptians from their yoke of slavery to idolatry. This showdown with life and death consequences is symbolic of the great controversy between Christ and Satan. Today’s study will discuss this fascinating topic.
