About this listen

 A life of adventure awaited Alexei Leonov from his birth in southwest Siberia on 30 May 1934. A legendary character and audacious world-beater, he was the eleventh Soviet cosmonaut, best known as the first man to carry out a spacewalk on 18 March 1965.
