Protetto dalla famiglia ducale, quello del Corpus Domini era il convento più prestigioso di Ferrara. E ben nota era la qualità della sua musica. La principessa Leonora è ricordata come musicista da Nicola Vicentino e Gioseffo Zarlino. Laurie Stras le ha attribuito una collezione anonima di mottetti: i Musica quinque vocum motetta materna lingua vocat, pubblicata a Venezia nel 1543. Alcuni di questi sono eseguiti durante la puntata dall’ensemble Musica Secreta con Celestial Sirens.
