Attenzione! Diciamo colline ma siamo pur sempre su un altopiano molto elevato, tra i 1600 e i 1700 metri di altitudine. Centro commerciale, un tempo capitale del distretto, Maua vede convivere diverse varie etnie e ha una particolarità: qui esiste un fiorente commercio e consumo di “khat”, un arbusto le cui foglie sono masticate più o meno come le foglie di coca in centro america.
