À la fin des années 70, le ciel est sillonné de plus en plus d'avions, le monde est à portée de vol. À Roissy, les tubes transparents qui quadrillent l’aérogare sont de plus en plus encombrés. En 1981, plus de 11 millions de personnes ont foulé son tarmac, bien plus que ce qu’il est en capacité d’accueillir.
Il faut agrandir, mais comment ?
