In questa penultima puntata del ciclo si prende in considerazione un aspetto non sufficientemente conosciuto e valorizzato della sua produzione: la musica per orchestra, genere sempre rimasto in secondo piano nel normale repertorio e come “sbilanciato” rispetto alla sua opera destinata al pianoforte. Un cimento, quello di Busoni con l’orchestra, che inizia già negli anni giovanili, che passa attraverso le suite sinfoniche tratte dai lavori teatrali Arlecchino e Turandot, e si completa nei due pregevoli lavori della maturità: la già ricordata Berceuse élégiaque e Nocturne symphonique.
