Grenoble, le 16 janvier 1988, 20 heures. Au bar Le Marly, c’est encore l’heure de l’apéritif. Sous les yeux de Madame Martin, la patronne, huit clients discutent un verre à la main. Plongés dans leur conversation, ils ne voient pas le fourgon qui, à 20 h 15, ralentit à la hauteur du bar. Cinq minutes plus tard, les clients ne remarquent pas non plus la Golf qui s’arrête à quelques mètres de l’établissement. Il est 20 h 20, trois hommes encagoulés descendent de la voiture et foncent vers le bar. L’apéro tourne au carnage.
