El 29 de abril de 1875 se inaugura el Museo de Antropología del doctor Velasco. El rey Alfonso XII preside la ceremonia, mientras una pequeña banda de música ameniza la celebración. Es una jornada alegre pero, al día siguiente, el ambiente en el museo cambia por completo. Ha llegado un ataúd, recién exhumado del cementerio de San Isidro. En su interior descansa Conchita, la hija del doctor, fallecida 11 años atrás.
