La Mescalina es un alcaloide producido por algunos cactus como el Peyote (región de méxico) y el San Pedro (región andina). Los cactus sintetizan la mescalina partir del aminoácido Fenilalanina, que también se encuentra en alimentos como los huevos o la leche materna. La mescalina fue la única sustancia psicodélica durante la mitad del siglo XX, hasta que fue desplazada por el LSD. El 2CB o TUCI, conocida como la cocaína rosada, es una droga sintética, molecularmente es muy parecida a la mescalina, pues, solamente poseen una diferencia en uno de sus sustituyentes.
