 “Non è una questione di lingua, non lo è mai stato e mai lo sarà”. Andrei Kurkov, 61enne nato a San Pietroburgo, è il più tradotto degli scrittori ucraini contemporanei. Di madre lingua russa si muove agevolmente in quella che descrive come una metropoli da sempre multiculturale, multireligiosa e dunque multilinguistica. Da sempre legato alla capitale ucraina, vi ambienta i suoi racconti deciso a preservarne il carattere distinto, aperto al mondo ma solidamente ancorato ad un antico passato.
