  • MS FAB IS IN THE HOUSE - NEW CO-HOST ALERT - 70s TRIVIA - ep.95
    Sep 12 2025

We have a new CO-Host joining Rob and her name is MS FAB (aka Joann)

Joann and Rob have known each other for a very long time

On this podcast Ms Fab tells us about her job at the ROCK BOX SCHOOL and STAGE in North Port Florida.. and also it's an introduction for listeners as she will be our first female co-host!

We also talk a little Barry Gibb, pairing a beverage to a song or album and even Neil Diamond is mentioned ...

Ms Fab will be a regular on the podcast along with Matt, Jeremy and Sam.

Ms Fab will bring a fun and exciting flavor to the podcast and we'll be talking more about 70s, 80s music than anything. Maybe 60s and 50s.. I see an Elvis movie review in the future.

At the end of this episode we do some 70s music trivia! Does Ms Fab have what it takes to go against Rockin Rob?

You'll have to tune in to find out.

    Sep 10 2025

KISS ALIVE - 50th ANNIVERSARY Special Podcast with Sam and Rob

September 10, 1975 KISS ALIVE! Was unleashed to the public.

Since then it's proven the test of time as far as LIVE albums go.

Oh, but wait... it wasn't entirely recorded live ... there were studio tricks ?

The album that almost wasn't saved Casablanca Records from bankruptcy and propelled KISS into greater music territory. It would be only a year later when they put out their ground-breaking earth shaking album DESTROYER.. and the rest is kisstory!

Find out who they borrowed a guitar from when recording the over-dubs for KISS Alive. Who ended up funding Kiss' dressed to kill tour (which lead to kiss alive) What made Neil Bogart (owner of Casablanca) suddenly want to give the band 2 million dollars? What words of wisdom will we hear from Gene Simmons in this podcast? Who made Rob want to learn how to play guitar? What was the inspiration behind the name KISS ALIVE? We cover all this in less than 30 minutes AND MORE! ********* KNOW GOOD MUSIC can be found on Podbean (host site), Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Iheart Radio, Pandora, YouTube and almost anywhere you listen to podcasts.

We talk about his 2020 book "Liberty, Life, Billy & the Pursuit of Happiness"

Liberty helped sell over 150 million albums with a band that Phil Rubin named "the Lords of 52nd Street" with Billy Joel at the lead.

**** We talk about: THE FIRST TIME LIBERTY MET BILLY JOEL WHAT IT WAS LIKE TO MEET PAUL MCCARTNEY AND RECORD WITH HIM THE SONGS "SCENES FROM AN ITALIAN RESTAURANT" AND "ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG" THE SONG LIBERTY DIDN'T LIKE TO PLAY THE UNIQUE SOUNDS USED FOR "PRELUDE / ANGRY YOUNG MAN" AND "STILETTO" THE 911 BENEFIT, VISITING GROUND ZERO THE RECOVERY SQUAD (Liberty has been sober for over 20 years!) THE SLIM KINGS (LIBERTY'S CURRENT BAND) AND MORE! The good, the bad and the ugly of it all. We tried to keep it positive. Liberty is such a humble, funny and sweet person it was a great time for us all. **** Liberatori "Liberty" DeVitto is an American rock drummer. He is best known for his work as a drummer for singer-songwriter Billy Joel's recording and touring band. He has also been a session drummer on recordings for other artists, including Paul McCartney, Carly Simon, Phoebe Snow, Karen Carpenter, Stevie Nicks, Rick Wakeman, Bob James, Meat Loaf, and more. He is credited as a drummer on records that have sold a combined total of 150 million units worldwide.

In 2020, Liberty released his first book, an autobiography, Liberty—Life, Billy, and the Pursuit of Happiness (pictured below). He then began exploring other literary journeys and released his first children's storybook, Love, Santa Clause—A humble-hearted Christmas story. There is much more to come as Liberty is working on an entire book series as we speak.

**** Check out Liberty's website where you can order his book: LIBERTY, LIFE, BILLY & THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS www.libertydevitto.com also check out the SLIM KINGS website at www.slimkings.com - new album in the works coming in September!

  • CHRIS SLADE Interview - AC/DC - THE FIRM - TOM JONES - MANFRED MANN'S EARTHBAND
    Jul 13 2025

ROB & JEREMY interview CHRIS SLADE

Chris Slade had an incredible career in music spanning 6 decades!

Chris is from Wales and grew up 6 miles from where Tom Jones grew up. So it only was right that Chris became Tom Jones drummer (Chris was on Tom's first 6 albums including LIve in Vegas)

Chris went on to form Manfred Mann's Earth Band (Blinded by the Light) ... was asked to join a new supergroup THE FIRM (in the 80s with Jimmy Page & Paul Rodgers), was in ASIA, URIAH HEEP...

... and one of the greatest bands of all time ... AC/DC. Chris was on their RAZOR'S EDGE album which he played drums on the legendary song Thunderstruck! He also recorded "big gun" for the Swartzenegger movie "Last Action Hero". He joined AC/DC on their ROCK or BUST world tour in 2015.

He was in AC/DC up until 2020 when Phil Rudd rejoined.

We only had about 35 minutes to talk to Chris so we couldn't cover his whole career (who could) but we got to talk drum technique, auditioning for AC/DC, being asked to join The Firm and other stuff including who makes the best tea and if Chris could go back in time where would it be and when?

Also hear Chris' response when Jimmy Page told him (while recording with Tom Jones) what he was going to call his next band ... you may have heard of them?

    A good fun interview!

Enjoy **** KNOW GOOD MUSIC can be found on Podbean (host site), Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Iheart Radio, Pandora, YouTube and almost anywhere you listen to podcasts.
