    Scriptures Referenced:

    • Jesus is our Prophet, High Priest, and Mediator (Mk 6:4, Heb 4:14, 9:15).
    • God uses the foolish, weak, and insignificant to perplex the wise (1Cor 1:27-28).
    • The tribe of Levi repented of their idolatry by standing for the Lord & striking their brethren (Ex 32:4, 25-29).
    • The tribe that Jacob pronounced judgement over Moses proclaims blessing to (Gn 49:5-7, Ex 32:29).
    • He who is forgiven much loves much (Lk 7:47)
    • Lv 8: 1. they’re presented to God, we present ourselves to God (Rm 12:1), 2. they’re washed, we’re washed in the word (Jn 15:3, Eph 5:26), 3. they’re clothed, we’re clothed with the righteousness of Christ (Is 61:10), 4. they’re anointed, we’re anointed with the Holy Spirit (1Jn 2:20, 27), 5. they’re atoned for, our sins have been atoned for (1Jn 2:2), 6. they're sprinkled, we’ve been sprinkled (Heb 10:22, 12:24), and 7. they’re fed, we partake in the fellowship of communion (1Cor 11:26).
    • Lv 8: While our salvation is complete, we are daily being perfected and growing in sanctification (Heb 10:14).
    • Lv 10: God is a consuming fire (Heb 12:29). Priests must example obedience or they will die like Moses when neglecting to circumcise his son (Ex 4:24). As the High Priest Aaron isn’t allowed to outwardly grieve his sons (Lv 21:10).
    • Lv 12: Having children is commanded & considered a gift from the Lord (Gn 1:28, Ps 127:3). Mary and Joseph brought the offering of the poor to the temple after Jesus’ birth (Lk 2:24).
    • Lv 15: Understanding the significance of Rachel’s statement to Laban when he searched for his stolen gods (Gn 31:34-35).
    • Lv 16: After confessing Israel’s sins over the second goat, it carries their sins into the wilderness (Ps 103:12). Christ bore our sin once, took it away entirely, and sat down at the right hand of the Father because the work of our High Priest is finished (Heb 10:11-12).
    • Lv 17: Our approach to God must accompany a right understanding of who He is and what He expects (Heb 11:6). Like Israel, this fellowship with Him is only possible through the Priest (Jesus) and with a spotless sacrifice (also Jesus) (Jn 4:6).
    • Lv 20: Because there was no offering for his sin, David cried out, ‘Lord You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise’ (Ps 51:16-17).
    • Lv 23: Fulfillment of the holy days and feasts- Jesus came as our Rest, fulfilling the SabbathShabat (Heb 4:9-10). Jesus died as the Lamb, fulfilling the PassoverPesach (1Cor 5:7). Jesus was buried without corruption, fulfilling the Feast of Unleavened BreadChag HaMatzot. Jesus is the first to rise from the dead, fulfilling the Feast of FirstfruitsYom HaBikkurim (1Cor 15:20). The Holy Spirit came and filled the Church fifty days after the Feast of Firstfruits and Jesus’ resurrection, fulfilling the Feast of Pentecost (pente means fifty)—Shavuot (Ac 2:1-4). Christ’s return will fulfill the Feast of TrumpetsRosh Hashanah (1Cor 15:52). Israel will finally see their Messiah and respond with brokenness and mourning fulfilling the Day of Atonement
