Spoiler alert: this week we’re analyzing the Twilight Zone episode “Long Distance Call.” Billy, played by Twilight Zone royalty Bill Mumy, loves his grandmother, and she loves him right back. But, somewhere along the way, grandma’s affection began to morph into a controlling obsession. When grandma passes away, it feels like Billy will never see her again–or will he? The problem for Billy’s parents is not a matter of will they see each other again, but how soon. On this episode of KOI: A Twilight Zone Show, we’re going to be discussing whether or not we can label grandma as evil or a victim of her circumstances; we’ll ask the question: why exactly does Billy come back?; and I’ll reveal my moment of awe, some thoughts on why it’s okay for people to be mad at us sometimes.
