  • A push to move city elections from May to November

    This week On The Record with Randy Beamer, we hear from the Mayor about why she wants to see Municipal Elections moved from May to November.

    The controversial Guajolote Ranch development has changed course, as developer Lennar Homes now wants to build a MUD to support water and utilities for the thousands of new homes they want to build. Randy Neumann, with the Scenic Loop- Helotes Creek Alliance, explain how this works and what they expect from this latest twist.

    Bexar County Commissioner Tommy Calvert talks about the east side’s new Urban Farm and his hopes for the redevelopment of the Freeman Coliseum and Frost Bank Center.

    On Reporter’s Rountable, Megan Rodriguez with the Express News gives us more information about the effort to move city elections to November, and why the city is backing down on the required number of contracts with women and minority owned businesses.

  • Spotlighting San Antonio as a filming destination

  • Election night recap: Props A, B, and the rest

    This week On The Record with Randy Beamer, details on the effort by District 6 City Councilman Ric Galvan to have the city begin discussing the growing data centers popping up on the far west side. Galvan cites the massive amount of water usage and power needs of these centers, and wants the city to discuss the impacts these centers will have on our resources.

    Then, Ramon J. Vasquez, Exec. Director for the American Indians in Texas at the Spanish Colonial Missions, shares his thoughts on the recent social media post for Columbus Day as Indigenous Peoples Day that led to the resignation of Alamo Trust CEO Kate Rogers. Vasquez also shares his concern over the lack of communication the Alamo Trust has with members of the Alamo Citizens Advisory Committee.

  • Northside neighbors push back on approved wastewater plant

    This week, On The Record with Randy Beamer, we talk with Randy Neumann, Chair of the Steering Committee for Scenic Loop-Helotes Creek Alliance, the group fighting homebuilder Lennar’s plans to dump wastewater into a pristine hill country creek. While the TCEQ this week ruled in favor of Lennar’s wastewater permit, Neumann explains why the fight is not over.


    Next, Pct, 3 County Commissioner Grant Moody joins Randy to talk about the elections department’s readiness for the November 4th election, and also the county’s involvement on the proposed “South Beach” project on the grounds of Ft. Sam Houston.


    Then we visit with Chris Maitre, CEO of the Brackenridge Park Conservancy, to get an update on the new park plans and the overall park renovations.

Director Bryan Gervais explains how this polling could be indicative of the outcome of the vote.


    Next, Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai outlines the two upcoming ballot propositions, what they mean, and how the taxing structure will work.


    We talk with Maria Perez-Diaz, the local representative on the State Board of Education, about concerns over a newly-appointed social studies content advisor, David Barton. She explains why he is not the best fit for the job, and why the state board needs to take a different path.
