With just a few weeks to go before KATSEYE takes the stage again in the US, the group is celebrating a recent number one with their EP, 'WILD,' and standing confident in their established style. Last month as the new project arrived, Yoonchae, Lara, and Daniela joined us for an Audacy Check In.

“I think ‘WILD’ is just a big sister of ‘BEAUTIFUL CHAOS.’ It feels like ‘WILD’ is the final destination of the ‘BEAUTIFUL CHAOS’ era, if that makes sense,” shares Lara. “It's us taking it further and being like, ‘OK we're gonna really go for it, do songs that are all completely different to one another,’ like each song is really unique, but then still is cohesive and still fits within the same world. Yeah, it's just us kind of full sending it.”

While still expanding their sound, KATSEYE have managed to establish an identity that sets them apart. “Honestly, I feel like we have grown so much as artists,” Daniela admits. “I think especially as a group, and individually as well, but I mean we're still experimenting and figuring out our sound and trying new things. We're still gonna keep evolving, like it's always gonna keep growing.”

'WILD' finds a way to mix it all together, from the Dance Pop of “PINKY UP” to the Latin flavor of “Hootie Frutti,” and the Ed Sheeran penned hit, “Animal,” KATSEYE are always evolving, even track-to-track sometimes. "I felt like the thing that excited me the most probably was like, ‘OK we can show our vocals on this,” Lara says of “Animal.”

“I was like, ‘I feel like this has a bit more like edge and soul.’"

The next step for KATSEYE is to bring their evolution directly to the fans, with tour dates in the US kicking off in October. “We're so excited for this tour,” says Yoonchae, “we have so much bigger stage now, so maybe we can show more creative elements and a lot more production.”

“Expect a lot of things you haven't seen yet,” teases Lara. “I think everyone's gonna shine in a new way on this tour.”
