In this episode we’re just talkin’ blues with the Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society, founded in 1990 with a mission to support blues artists, nurture emerging talent, and build a strong community for blues fans. From youth and women-in-blues programs to live events and challenges, the society is deeply engaged in keeping the local blues scene alive. Despite the challenges of promoting blues in a changing landscape, they’ve embraced tools like live streaming and newsletters to stay connected. Current president John Durr joins us to share insights into the society’s work and how they’re keeping the blues alive for future generations.
