About this listen

We are two childhood best friends, Morgan and Sam, who have a passion for reading that led to forming our own podcast.
While Sam reads books with magic, weapons, and girls with supernatural powers, also known as fantasy, Morgan reads books related to romance, LGBTQ theme books, and on the odd day horror novels.
We decided to start a podcast after realizing that we spent four to five hours on the phone just talking about the recent books we’ve read. This has allowed us to not only stay close as friends but for us to expand what we are reading.Copyright 2021 All rights reserved.

    About The Novel:

  • EP215 Hot For Teacher [Fake Flame by Adele Buck]
    Mar 8 2026

Happy Sunday! We hope you all remembered to change your clocks forward if you are in the US (unless you live in Arizona you lucky ducks)!

This week we are discussing an ALC that we received from NetGalley called Fake Flame by Adele Buck! We want to thank NetGalley for allowing us to listen to this novel in exchange for our full and honest review, and as usual we do not sugar coat anything.

If you want to make sure you are keeping up with all the goings on for the podcast make sure you follow our socials here!

    Summary:

You can’t fake heat like this… To an observer, hauling a baby grand piano onto a college quad to publicly serenade an ex might seem like a romantic gesture. To literature professor Eva Campbell, it’s the latest manipulative move by a cheating jerk who won’t take a hint. Plus, she never liked that song anyway. Setting the piano on fire might be an overreaction, but Eva’s at the end of her rope, at least until hot young firefighter Sean Hannigan talks her down. And that’s not all Sean does. Soon he’s offering to be Eva’s fake boyfriend to get her creepy ex off her back. Unexpected, maybe, but there’s something about Sean—beyond the angelic face and take-me-now body—that makes Eva say yes. Sean battles infernos for a living, reads romance on the side and is a straight-up, family-loving good guy. Eva’s not sure she’s ready for the danger he poses to her jaded heart. Given their differences, a relationship can’t last, right? But the line between fake and real keeps blurring, daring her to take the biggest risk of all… Fake Flame is a spicy, fast-paced romance you can read in one sitting.

  • EP214 Seventeen Going On Thirty [Woke Up Like This by Amy Lea]
    Mar 1 2026

Today, we take a book off of Morgan's TBR, and we read Woke Up Like This by Amy Lea! This novel was a 13-going-on-30 theme, which felt perfect to read since Sam's birthday was this month and we are both in our 30s!

    About The Novel:

Planning the perfect prom is one last “to do” on ultra-organized Charlotte Wu’s high school bucket list. So far, so good, if not for a decorating accident that sends Charlotte crash-landing off a ladder, face-first into her obnoxiously ripped archnemesis J. T. Renner. Worse? When Charlotte wakes up, she finds herself in an unfamiliar bed at thirty years old, with her bearded fiancé, Renner, by her side. Either they’ve lost their minds or they’ve been drop-kicked into adulthood, forever trapped in the thirty-year-old bodies of their future selves. With each other as their only constant, Charlotte and Renner discover all that’s changed in the time they’ve missed. Charlotte also learns there’s more to Renner than irritating-jock charm, and that reaching the next milestone isn’t as important as what happens in between. Navigating a series of adventures and a confounding new normal, Charlotte and Renner will do whatever it takes to find a way back to seventeen. But when—and if—they do, what then?
