  • Schedule Breakdown, Palestra Bound, and the Road Ahead
    Oct 25 2025

Basketball is in the air. Practice is rolling, the roster is deep, and the Juniata Men’s Basketball Show is officially back. In this season-opening episode, Tom Frank, Biz, and Head Coach Greg Curley break down the full 2024–25 schedule and lay out the storylines already taking shape.

Coach Curley gives an inside look at preseason progress and why this young squad already feels ahead of last year’s curve. The crew digs into:

    • The opening stretch against three brand-new non-conference opponents (hello Mount Aloysius, Westminster, and Alfred State).
    • A brutal early conference test vs Landmark heavyweights Susquehanna, Drew, Catholic, and Scranton—four title contenders in four games.
    • The holiday slate featuring the always chaotic Doc Green Tournament and a showdown with former assistant Jacob Flegel at Messiah.
    • January and February grind time, including a Palestra game vs Goucher and the official return of Alumni Weekend on February 7th vs Wilkes.
    • The philosophy behind this schedule: embrace challenges early, build toughness, deserve victory.

Plus: alumni trash talk, Pittsburgh vs Philly attendance war, why scrimmage locations are “classified,” and a declaration that this season is about growth—no shortcuts.

  • Boots, Buckets and Becoming Dr. Brandon Martinazzi
    Sep 4 2025

This week, Tom, Biz, and Coach Curley welcome Dr. Brandon Martinazzi (’19) — 1,302-point scorer, top-15 in points/assists/steals/threes, and now an orthopaedic surgery resident at Rothman. Brandon takes us from Cresson to College to the OR: the Bishop Carroll days with Marcus Lee (including the almost-same-night 1,000-point milestone), first impressions of Coach Curley and the tough-love meeting that kept him from quitting the day before his first practice, and the senior season where he wore a walking boot all day, took it off to play, then put it back on — and still led the Eagles.

We hit the greatest wins (Scranton on the road), the worst gyms (hello, Goucher), the Ottawa poutine tour disguised as a foreign trip, alumni-weekend lore, and why Juniata’s culture of accountability translates directly to the operating room. Brandon also dishes advice to this year’s squad — buy in from Day 1, treat every practice like it matters — and weighs in on NIL and what DIII looks like as the landscape tilts (yes, St. Francis comes up).

It’s hoops IQ, med-school grit, and plenty of Eagles nostalgia — with a side of garbage-can fries. Subscribe, rate, and let us know who’s on your Mount Juniata five.

  • Defense, Leadership, Legacy: Seth Brewer’s Juniata Story
    Aug 11 2025

This week on the Juniata Men’s Basketball Podcast, Tom Frank, Biz, and Coach Curley sit down with one of the program’s most decorated alumni — 2018 grad, four-year starter, and the only Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Year in school history, Seth Brewer.

From helping the Eagles earn their first-ever national ranking and a regular-season title, to setting the school record for wins in a season, Seth shares the stories, lessons, and behind-the-scenes moments that made his class “The Standard.” The guys talk about leadership, accountability, and why buying in 100% is the only way to turn a season around. Plus, hear Seth’s take on the toughest opponents he faced, his “Mount Juniata” starting five, and what life looks like now as “Uncle Seth” and a high school business teacher.

  • Injuries and Triumphs: The Story of Andrew Bithell
    May 29 2025

School’s out, but Tom, Biz, and Coach Curley refuse to coast into summer. Instead, they welcome 6-foot-7 bruiser-turned-firefighter Andrew “Bith” Bithell (’21) for a conversation that crackles hotter than a three-alarm blaze. Bith rewinds the tape on his roller-coaster college career—three shoulder surgeries, two concussions, and a nine-game senior season shortened by COVID—then fast-forwards to life in full turnout gear with the Altoona Fire Department, where he moonlights as a record-setting strongman (yes, he once cuddled a 415-lb atlas stone).

Along the way, the crew trades stories about rehab-forged grit, weight-room epiphanies, and that Winston Churchill mantra Bith keeps taped to his locker: “Stay ready—your finest hour might start in 60 seconds.” A lightning round reveals his Dr Pepper–powered post-lift diet, the most underrated Eagle of his era, and whether he’d rather squat 800 lbs or drain a Landmark title buzzer-beater (spoiler: team first, always). Equal parts locker-room banter and life-advice clinic, this episode is a master class in turning setbacks into strength—on the court, in the gym, and under the flashing lights of a fire engine.
