About this listen
Jon Montgomery is one of Canada’s most recognizable Olympians. He’s not just remembered for winning gold in men’s skeleton at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, but for how he celebrated it. His walk through Whistler Village with a pitcher of beer as fans sang O Canada became an instant Canadian sports moment. Jon has said that if that’s what he’s remembered for, he considers himself the luckiest guy on Earth.
After his Olympic career, Jon transitioned into television, finding a second calling as the longtime host of The Amazing Race Canada. Since 2013, the role has allowed him to travel coast to coast, experience the country up close, and witness human relationships, resilience, and competition in real time, all while staying connected to storytelling and sport. He was on the mat in Halifax, Nova Scotia when Bromance’s very own Ty Smith won Season 9 alongside his partner (and now wife) Kat.
In this episode, Jon reflects on Olympic gold, an unforgettable celebration, and how hosting The Amazing Race Canada has given him a front-row seat to witnessing the power of friendship.
Bromance is made possible by Charm Diamond Centres and produced by by coastal in partnership with iHeart Radio.
