Σε αυτό το επεισόδιο, η Αφροδίτη Γκόνου, Σύμβουλος Προγράμματος Σύγχρονης Τέχνης του Μουσείου Κυκλαδικής Τέχνης, συνομιλεί με τη Jessica Morgan, Διευθύντρια στο Dia Art Foundation στη Νέα Υόρκη, για την έκθεση «The Last Grand Tour | Σύγχρονοι Περιηγητές στην Ελλάδα» που επιμελήθηκε για το Μουσείο Κυκλαδικής Τέχνης το 2011. Συζητούν για το πώς αυτή η έκθεση κατάφερε να παρουσιάσει μαζί για πρώτη φορά το έργο διεθνώς καταξιωμένων καλλιτεχνών, οι οποίοι έζησαν και δημιούργησαν στην Ελλάδα κατά τη διάρκεια του 20ού αιώνα. Στη συνέχεια, συζητούν για τις προκλήσεις του ρόλου της ως διευθύντριας του Dia, αλλά και για το αμείωτο ενδιαφέρον της για την τέχνη που αναπτύσσεται εκτός των αστικών κέντρων του δυτικού κόσμου. Καταλήγουν στην αναδρομική έκθεση της Ελληνίδας πρωτοπόρου καλλιτέχνιδας Chryssa που διοργανώθηκε το 2023 στο Dia και στη συνεισφορά της στη σύγχρονη τέχνη.

In this episode, Aphrodite Gonou, Contemporary Art Program Advisor at the Museum of Cycladic Art, talks with Jessica Morgan, Director at the Dia Art Foundation in New York, about the exhibition “The Last Grand Tour” that Morgan curated in 2011 for the Museum of Cycladic Art in Athens, Greece. They discuss how the exhibition brought together for the first time works by internationally renowned artists who lived and worked in Greece during the twentieth century. As the conversation broadens, Morgan discusses her role and challenges as director at the Dia Art Foundation and her ongoing interest in the peripheries of the art world. Morgan also talks about Dia’s 2023 retrospective of the Greek pioneer artist Chryssa and her contribution to contemporary art.
