About this listen
Christendom’s Tocqueville Forum welcomed Dr. Lynn Uzzell of the University of Virginia and Washington & Lee University to campus for a lecture on March 24 titled “James Madison’s Antislavery Constitution.” Uzzell dispelled the myths surrounding the modern understanding of James Madison’s stance on abolition. She discussed the competing interpretations of the slavery clause in the Constitution.
