Die Dichterin und Aktivistin war wichtiges Mitglied der von Audre Lorde inspirierten afro-deutschen Bewegung der 80er und 90er Jahre und verarbeitete in ihrer Lyrik den alltäglichen Rassismus der bundesrepublikanischen Gesellschaft.
