It’s those times we wonder if He even sees the everyday stuff of our lives or cares about the direction we are headed. James gets honest about why that happens—it's usually not that God moved away from us, but that we've let other things crowd Him out along the way. The good news? He’s close than you know and He's always ready to welcome us back, no matter how far off course we feel we've gone.

We've all experienced the power of words. Words have a way of forming us—they stick with us long after they're spoken, shaping how we see ourselves and the world around us. Someone said it like this: words create worlds. On this Father's Day, we're especially reminded of how much the words of father figures shape our lives. The book of James reminds us that our words have incredible weight—they can build people up or tear them down, create connection or destroy relationships. The way we speak reveals what's really going on in our hearts, and learning to control our tongues for what matters most is one of the most practical ways faith shows up in everyday life.

Ever notice how easy it is to say the right things but not actually live them out? We live in a world of carefully curated posts and put together personas—everyone looks like they've got it made on the outside. But James cuts through the superficial stuff to the heart of it: faith that doesn't show up in how you treat people, spend money, or handle daily decisions isn't really faith at all. Maybe you’re like James, tired of the Sunday morning performance or the right answers that don’t amount to any real change. The way life should be is not about being perfect or keeping up appearances—it's about being real and letting what you believe actually influence how you live, even and especially when no one's watching.
