    Jan 6 2026

International Clearance - the podcast about British born or raised footballers abroad for club or country.

Scully is enjoying himself in South Africa, so Joe is joined this week by guest co-host Jordy of the From My Left podcast!

The first episode of 2026 has plenty to discuss including Liam Rosenior earning a move from Strasbourg to Chelsea head coach, and the British manager in line to replace him. Plus, there are coaches to discuss heading into top jobs in China, Indonesia and Colorado. Joe catches us up on his trip to Morocco for AFCON, where he saw players on Diaspora Duty for Cameroon, Ivory Coast and Zimbabwe, with the latter's Leicester-raised winger scoring a goal of the tournament contender.

Plus, there's of course the January transfer window opening which means plenty of rumours, reports and returns to get through including the premature end to Cuba Mitchell's Bangladesh adventure and a Charlotte FC rescue option offered to Villa exile Harvey Elliott...

    Dec 17 2025

International Clearance - the podcast about British born/raised footballers playing for clubs and national sides abroad!

Follow our podcast and you'll never be wrong, just early - simply look at our man Jamie Vardy taking home the Serie A Player of the Month award (even if we're not sure why), for example! Meanwhile, his former Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers looks to have a new job in Saudi Arabia, while Will Still has revealed he's turned down a return to Ligue 1.

The main event on this episode, however, is our preview of the British born or raised footballers heading to AFCON 2025 to represent their family countries. There are over 25 of our diaspora contingent on duty in Morocco and we'll be shouting out every one of them - from Sudanese sibling duos, returning EFL Tanzanians and a heartbreaking injury for a former guest on our show, to a Zimbabwean dozen and a return to the Ivorian squad for a Premier League legend who has been out in the cold for two years...

  • 84. is Michael Olise the most in-form winger in the world?
    Nov 25 2025

Welcome to International Clearance! The podcast about British-born or raised footballers and coaches flourishing abroad.

This week, we reflect on a record-breaking performance for Michael Olise in Bayern's win over Freiburg - just how good is he in the context of wingers around the world? We plant our flag next to him. Furthermore, we were the first to plant this flag!

Elsewhere, even though Real Madrid didn't win on the weekend there was a reminder that Jude Bellingham is the youngest bossman in football, Jamie Vardy has a nightmare weekend that could endanger his enjoyable time in Italy thus far, and there's more fallout from Steve McClaren's departure as Jamaica coach.

  • 83. Steve McClaren resigns in wild Diaspora Duty week!
    Nov 19 2025

This is International Clearance - the podcast about British born/raised footballers and coaches plying their trade abroad for club or country. This week we focus on the highlights of the international break, and what we like to call the Diaspora Duty - those from the UK that represent their countries of their family heritage.

World Cup and play-off qualification spots were at stake in the last week, and it was mixed fortunes for our contingent around the world . While DR Congo defenders Axel Tuanzebe and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were delighted to make March's intercontinental play-off showdown, the Jamaican national team were far less enthused - so much so that manager Steve McClaren immediately resigned after his side's draw with Curacao, who instead qualified automatically for 2026.

Elsewhere, Bangladesh's international break included a historic win over their great rivals and a Hamza Choudhury bicycle kick to rival Scott McTominay; Somalia ended the longest winless run in international football with help from a former Hashtag United player, while new Sweden boss Graham Potter is on a winless run of his own after his first two games in charge. There's updates on those representing Canada, Chile, Nigeria, Hungary and more, including a hat-trick hero for the British Virgin Islands!

  • 82. Diaspora Duty: Rico Henry answers the Jamaica call
    Nov 11 2025

The international break is upon us, and there are some massive games for the British born/raised players representing the likes of Jamaica, Nigeria and Iraq as they seek a chance at World Cup glory. We discuss a few new call-ups, including Brentford left back Rico Henry's addition to the Reggae Boyz squad as they hope to lift spirits after Hurricane Melissa, and respond to Alex Iwobi's revealing hotel Snaps as the Nigerian FA face a player revolt in Morocco.

We also look back on the week in club football for our contingent abroad - Marcus Rashford now leads in assists across Europe's top 5 leagues, there's another controversy for Ademola Lookman at Atalanta, and an incredible solo effort from Londoner Dan Agyei stuns the Turkish champions. Plus, a moment to remember for former Accrington defender Ross Sykes in the Champions League...

    Nov 4 2025

International Clearance - the podcast about British born/raised players and coaches plying their trade abroad.

This week: we discuss Aaron Ramsey's mutual exit from Pumas in the wake of his dog going missing, Brad Young's equally brief adventure in the UAE also being cut short, while young striker Max Dean loses his head in a heavy Gent defeat.

In more positive news, there's another goal for Cremonese veteran Jamie Vardy, Jude Bellingham dominates another La Liga fixture and former Leeds defender Charlie Cresswell talks about loving life in Ligue 1 after yet another goal for Toulouse. Plus, the latest on the Brits competing in the MLS Cup Play-offs...
