About this listen
Neither of us are economists, but we have definitely seen some similarities among clients with how they relate to money and their creativity.
Some examples of internalized capitalism in your clients (and yourself) might be:
- The belief that all progress must be linear, positive, upward.
- The belief that their worth and value as a human are tied to their productivity at a job.
- The worth you create at work is relative to how much time you spent and how efficient you were.
- To have more power or influence, they need to have more money.
One major goal of coaching then is to decouple self-worth from the pursuit of goals, and deconstruct the false binaries.
