  • How to Recover from a Hard Revision Letter with Sarah Zachrich Jeng
    Jun 6 2024

A hard revision letter can push a writer into despair—what can we do to make sure we don’t burn out, trying to make the book better? Find out in this conversation with Sarah!

Sarah Zachrich Jeng grew up in Michigan and always had a flair for the morbid and mysterious (for her dad’s thirty-fifth birthday, she wrote a short story entitled “The Man Who Died at 35”). After a brief career as an aspiring rock star, she now develops websites and writes cross-genre novels that combine suspense with the speculative. When I’m Her is her most recent release. She's probably best known for her inclusive aviation histories and picture books - but she's also working on memoir and book club fiction. • 443 | Using a Page Turn as Cliffhanger with Airlie Anderson
    May 16 2024

How to use the turn of a page as a cliffhanger, and hey, would you still write if you knew you weren't going to be published? Don't miss this awesome conversation today!

Airlie Anderson is the author and illustrator of children’s picture books Only: The Bird Who Liked Being Alone, Neither, Cat’s Colors, Cat’s Seasons, and more. She grew up in California and spent a lot of time reading and drawing, as well as swimming and pretending to ride a horse. Her early influences were animation art, pop art, and comics. Airlie attended the Rhode Island School of Design, where she majored in illustration and focused on children’s books, a natural choice given her love for saturated color and expressive characters. She now lives in beautiful, underrated New Jersey with her family, and enjoys the close proximity to New York City (book country)! She is the recipient of the Moonbeam Children’s Book Award, the Independent Publisher Book Award, and the Practical Preschool award.
