Dr. Magnussen has been the director of the Internet2 Technology Evaluation Center at Texas A&M University since its inception in 2004. In this time he has received funding from the Department of Homeland Security, Department of Transportation, Department of Justice, NIST, State of Texas, and industry. He currently serves on two committees for the DHS Safecom Advisory Panel, has served on several FCC Committees and task forces, has served on APCO and NENA Committees and task forces, and has testified before the United States House of Representatives on NG 9-1-1 funding. He is also currently serving as an advisor to the CBRS alliance and several public safety firms.
