  • July 2000 (Escorts and Atlases)
    Jul 8 2025

If you're in London, Gareth Gwynn is appearing with his show Cyril at the Camden Fringe from 28-30 July. Tickets are available now.

Esyllt Sears is on BBC One Wales' Live From Merthyr Tydfil which is available on BBC iPlayer now.

Esyllt Sears grew up in Aberyswyth, but what does she remember of one of the most audacious crimes committed in the town during the summer of 2000? That's when £70,000 worth of pages from antique atlases were stolen from the National Library of Wales - but how did they do it? And how long does it take for anyone to notice a 17th Century map has gone missing? We also discuss the naming of the Ford Escort and, bringing it to the present day, the latest goings on in Cafe Diana. The article is here, should you be interested in the details.

In some ways, his is a little bit of an unofficial "Part 1" since, next week, we'll be joined by Charlotte Berman from The Traitors where we'll touch upon July 2000 all over again with the launch of the first Big Brother UK - And who better to lift the lid on reality TV than someone who spent several weeks in The Traitors Castle?! (Surely an upgrade from the Big Brother House).

  • July 1996 (Wannabe and Hotmail)
    Jul 1 2025

Esyllt Sears is on BBC One Wales' Live From Merthyr Tydfil which is available on BBC iPlayer now.

If you're in London, Gareth Gwynn is appearing with his show Cyril at the Camden Fringe from 28-30 July. Tickets are available now.

Spicemania and Girl Power kicked-off in July 1996 so Esyllt Sears has turned the brightness on her laptop up as far as it will go in the hope of being able to see their first rather poorly-lit video. Did you buy Wannabe first time around? If so, let us know - but as July 1996 was when you could get your first Hotmail email address, so why not do so by logging-in to your old account, fighting past a generation's worth of spam and sending us a message on imsonotoverit@gmail.com or contact us on one of the following...

  • June 1978 (Free Ice Cream!)
    Jun 26 2025

By the time you're reading this, you will have missed your opportunity for free ice cream courtesy of I'm So Not Over It but, to be honest, once you find out what you'd have to go through to get it, I'm confident you'd opt to give it a miss.

With that out of the way, we then tackle June 1978, which is entirely transport based, but I won't spoil it now by telling you which ones in particular. If you have a piece of the Berlin Wall do get in touch! Drop us a line to imsonotoverit@gmail.com about your own experiences - or get in touch via one of the following social media accounts...

  • June 1987 (Walls and Fences)
    Jun 17 2025

The Berlin Wall doesn't come down in June 1987, but Ronald Reagan's speech Gareh Gwynn a reason to search eBay for chunks of the wall while Esyllt Sears remains convinced she can spot a jockey on-sight. A more useful skill than you'd expect. • Holidays! (And the dry, dry summer of June 1995)
    Jun 10 2025

You join us in Newquay, Cornwall, where we find ourselves at the Celtic Media Festival/Awards. As such, there's a little bit of June 1995 chat, but this is manily about what made a classic '90s UK holiday. Thanks to those of you who got in touch with your own memories of rain, donkeys and nudity. • June 1993 (Holbeck Hall Fall)
    Jun 2 2025

What was your go-to family holiday? And what was your most memorable break? Let us know on imsonotoverit@gmail.com.

With summer underway and our own I'm So Not Over It roadtrip approaching, we'd love to hear your memories for a potential holiday themed episode - so do drop us a line. You can let us know your holiday memories through Instagram too - the advantage to social media being you get to see the post about this and hear the theme tune from The Holiday Programme too.

Anyway, back to June 1993, and one group of people who had a holiday to remember would be those who planned a stay Holbeck Hall Hoel in Scarborough, only to find it had fallen into the sea. In addition to coastal erosion we discuss the storms of the 90s and the first train to travel through the channel tunnel.

  • May 1978 (Unsubscribe)
    May 26 2025

A more sensible title for this episode would have been "Spam", but I'm not going to risk it getting algorithmically marked, blocked and binned - so I've gone for something else. May 1978 saw the first ever unwanted mass-email and the first ever early May Bank Holiday in the UK which was, surprisingly, similarly poorly received - and all this happened to a backdrop of Boney M.

There's loads of additional viewing/listening for this one, so once you've finished, feel free to get stuck-in to the following...

    * The full story of Charlie Chaplin's grave was covered in our March 1978 episode.

    * For more on Boney M check out our interview with writer and star of the Mary's Boy Child video - the very funny Anna Jordan.

    * And if you want to see people moaning about being given a day off, check out this BBC video of the first May Day Bank Holiday. The Union Jack pinny/PVC Mac combo will shortly be available in the I'm So Not Over It shop.

  • May 1981 with MADELEINE BRETTINGHAM! (Live from Machynlleth Comedy Festival)
    May 20 2025

Esyllt Sears tackles May 1981, and a good deal more, with the fantastic stand-up comedian and comedy writer MADELEINE BRETTINGHAM (Frankie Boyle’s New World Order, Late Night Lycett and loads more), live at the Machynlleth Comedy Festival. The month in question brings us Vogue and Cats but we also learn about Madeleine's work on Harry Hill's TV Burp well as how she found out about the death of Diana on the way to Amsterdam and welcomed in the New Millennium on Copacobana Beach.

Follow Madeleine on Instagram, BlueSky or sign-up for her very funny Substack.
