  • Seven Sermons to the Dead part 2.
    Jan 4 2026

It has been a year full of change for us at IYHGYHE, much positive, although often spurred on by the negative. I recently re-read Jung's Seven Sermons to the Dead and saw it in a very different light than I believe I ever could have in the past. I document this here with a reading of the first four sermons as a type of New Years Celebration. In other news, the 2026 Practical Distillers and Alchemists Almanac is Available now here:

    https://www.thealchemistcabinet.com/thewarehouse1

Keep an eye on www.thealchemistcabinet.com as it will be receiving extensive updates shortly. I intend to offer via the warehouse written charms and amulets, we will add artwork as a tab to explore, add direct links to podcasts and the One Piece At A Time Distilling Institute YouTube, and we will finish the Oracle deck this year (finally) and offer some merchandise featuring my original Artwork this year!

I recently re-read Jung's Seven Sermons to the Dead and saw it in a very different light than I believe I ever could have in the past. There is within a commercial for the Practical Distillers and Alchemists Almanac for 2026 which we still unfortunately do not have on hand. It should arrive any time and I will update both www.thealchemistcabinet.com and our One Piece At A Time YouTube channel once we have it on hand.

  • Hearthsfire: The Golden Bird, She Paints Flowers, Sentient Shadow
    Dec 12 2025

On these dark and cold nights it would seem we have forgotten their purpose. We used to gather around the fire and tell stories, of better and of worse times. Of heroes and myths and monsters. I wish that would come back, so I am participating to the best of my ability. Here you will find a recounting of the Brothers Grimm 'The Golden Bird' and two new Black Forest inspired poems; "She Paints Flowers" inspired by Persephone and "Sentient Shadow" about the phenomenon most commonly called Dog Man.

  • Painting Heroes In The Sky: New mythology for a new day
    Nov 24 2025

Back again with a new episode! Tonight we dive once more into creative writing. Here I lay out three new pieces of mythology which I am working on for the 2027 Practical Distillers and Alchemist Almanac. There are elements of the Black Forest Fairytales of the last episode but also elements of the celestial and divine order.

This is something I truly enjoy writing and narrating. Your support is amazing in this work and I cannot thank you enough.

The 2026 almanac should be available for order in the coming week! Keep an eye on www.thealchemistcabinet.com for more information!

    Enjoy!

  • Where Limits Meet The Liminal: Hoosier Black Forest Fairytales and Poems
    Nov 10 2025

Hey guys, I hope you all had a wonderful Spooky Season as we at IYHGYHE did! I have been working on a number of books including the 2027 Practical Distillers Almanac and have become quite taken with writing fairytales and poems expressing the Majik of this place where I live. I decided to narrate a few of these for you this evening. To be quite honest this is by far my most personal episode to date and I think represents the purist expression of my thoughts as of yet to be represented to the public.

We all have limits and boundaries to overcome in life and I think I may have found a way to overcome mine and bring the various disperate pieces together into a cohesive whole in coming years. I do hope you will enjoy them and please, please share them. They will all see some published form in the near future. Here you will hear a folk tale about a hidden fountain that produces ardent spirits with the help of a Clurichon. Folk Majik I leaned from my grandparents. A poem about a folk distiller on the edge of town. How the highway meets the sky in the Black Forest, and my personal favorite, Felix, the maybe friendly feral, feline, familiar!

A huge thank you to my friend Stephen Smith for inspiring me to pursue this path.

    1. The Forbidden Kind

    2. A Step At A Time

    3. Where The Highway Meets The Sky

    4. The Sovereign Man

    5. Felix; the maybe friendly, feral, feline, familiar.
