About this listen

Good morning. Utah. I'm Michael Mosby. Spring is showing off today. Step outside right now and you'll feel 44 degrees — but that's just the warm-up act. Along the Wasatch Front, sunshine pushes you to 67 degrees this afternoon. That's 26 degrees warmer than usual for early March. South southwest winds around 9 miles an hour keep things comfortable. Tonight cools to 42 under partly cloudy skies. Down in Southern Utah? Even better. St. George hits 76 degrees under clear skies. Perfect weather for a lunchtime walk if you ask me. Tonight stays mild at 47. Up in the mountains, sunshine gets you to 56 degrees, but southwest winds gust between 8 and 14 miles an hour. Tonight drops to 35 with partly cloudy skies. Here's the twist. A weak cold front slides through Monday night — likely staying dry — and Tuesday cools off. The Wasatch Front sees partly sunny skies with a high near 58, falling to 55 by afternoon. Mountains reach 50. Southern Utah stays warm at 74. Wednesday brings sunshine statewide with temperatures rebounding — 57 along the Wasatch Front, 79 in the south, 47 in the mountains. Then the real warmth builds. Thursday and Friday? The Wasatch Front climbs to 66 and 68. Southern Utah hits the mid-80s — 84 Thursday, 86 Friday. Mountains warm into the upper 50s. The weekend stays mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s along the Wasatch Front and upper 80s in Southern Utah. A slight chance of rain arrives late Sunday. One more thing — we're gaining 2 minutes and 42 seconds of daylight today. Spring equinox is just 11 days away. See you this afternoon.
