Through the dense forest, you stumble. The creature was last seen in these parts. A frightened Trader pointed you up these slopes. Taking a moment to catch your breath, you can understand why it may have fled in this direction. The going is tough. Between the uneven ground of the mountainside and the closely packed trees that allow barely any light through their branches, it is easy to lose your way. Suddenly, you hear it, a soft humming on the breeze. Following the sound, you find yourself at the mouth of a cave. Deep within the cave, there is a flicker of candlelight. Growing up, you have always been a little different. Being able to hear whispers on the wind. See things out of the corner of your eye that no one else perceives. Things that made your upbringing difficult. The most positive and understanding of people said you had a very active imagination. The less forgiving suggested professional help. Every year they are taken, and the night is filled with the soft weeping for the loss of loved ones. This year, he took your sibling. A silly mistake over an unrealistic rule and an angry, unfair guardian condemned them to the grasp of the Krampus. However, unlike the other villagers who simply accepted the loss as part of life, you were determined to get them back.
