Si evidenziano inoltre alcuni rischi:
- la mancanza di fluoro mineralizzante
- assenza di principi attivi sbiancanti (quelli che sbiancano veramente)
- alta abrasività
- contengono sostanze (il carbone stesso e la silice cristallina contenuta nella bentonite) considerate cancerogene.
Non sono quindi prodotti da consigliare e usare a cuor leggero.
