Katia and Paloma have some laughs with K. Broch! They discuss her career in writing and how her criminal past and upbringing as an only child informs her work.

K. Broch is a queer, mixed, dark comedy writer from West Michigan. When her single Mexican-American mother struggled to find childcare, she brought K. to her best friend’s gay bar, where the drag queens became her babysitters. After a stint dabbling in crime as a teen, she got her ankle tether off just in time to graduate from Michigan State University and create her own redemption arc. A near-death experience catapulted her move to Los Angeles to pursue writing. Her brand Only Child Syndrome began as a memoir, but she’s since shifted her non-fiction stories to screenplays, and launched OCS Productions. As an organization queen, she’s been a producer and UPM on several short films, along with her podcast, She Said...Let’s! which empowers women in film & TV. K. is a 2023 NHMC Series Scriptwriters fellow and writes and directs for the sketch show, Single Riders Only.
