About this listen

Welcome to Human Science. I’m Ana Segala—founder, host, and PhD candidate in Clinical Psychology. This podcast is where psychology meets the real world, and theory comes alive through conversation.

We explore psychology as a human science—grounded in meaning, shaped by culture, and informed by lived experience. Each episode features voices who approach the human condition through thoughtful, evidence-based inquiry—where identity shifts, relationships require presence, healing asks for honesty, and belonging is created.

This isn’t just about psychology.

It’s about us.

It’s about YOU.

  • Ep. 2 - What Human Science Is With Dr Elizabeth Nickrenz
    Oct 21 2025

In this episode, I had the chance to talk with Dr. Elizabeth Nickrenz, a psychologist and anthropologist whose work has been central to shaping what we understand today as human science. Through her research with autistic and neurodivergent communities, she shows how culture, community, and meaning are deeply woven into psychology. We talked about what human science really is, how people find their way into this field, and how Elizabeth’s work, from ethnography to exploring belonging and identity, continues to expand how we think about what it means to be human.
