About this listen

Arriving in Cusco was long-awaited since Lima was not a big success for me... now in Cusco, it got even more difficult. It's freaking cold here at night, like -4 degrees! No heating no hot water. That means sleeping with a t-shirt 2 hoodies, pants, and socks and still waking up because you are cold. On top of that during the day the house doesn’t get any sun so it doesn’t heat up.

Then working as a digital nomad is great but not if you don’t have internet and a noisy street right there.

Then in moments of frustration I just want to be home again in my warm house, have a hot shower, a warm meal, and a hug.

But well I chose this lifestyle of the unknown and ever-changing environment to grow so I gotta deal with it and learn from it.

Sounds a lot easier than it is. But it is a great challenge to take responsibility for my life.

Here you see the way I phrased it. “A great challenge”, not a problem. This is huge.

That’s that mindset that I try to keep. I have challenges all around me.

So what to do in this one though. The best to start with is to

First off…

Complain, rant, and be annoyed. At best with someone in a similar situation. In my case, my girlfriend happily ranted with me. It felt great to let it all out! I can’t just always switch to think positive it’s all gonna be alright mode.

Next:

I knew I needed to get better short-term and fix the most urgent thing. Only a few can think really good when they feel like shit. For me, it was definitely getting warm. So I went and bought a hot-water bottle. I can already say that was the best purchase of the year!!! The next night was already way better.

Then, when I had some headspace like right now being in bed with the hot water bottle on my feet and 3 sweaters on, I can think, maybe even meditate about it. Let’s tackle them one by one.

And the good part while creating this I haven’t solved everything yet. But there is progress. I only shower during the day when I can get out in the sun to warm up again and use the hairdryer to get warm quickly again. I bought some more data for my phone for the unreliable wifi and keep focused on the tasks that I like doing, that give me energy.

Like Podcasting, chatting on my Telegram channel, and spending time outside with my girlfriend.

And for everyone going through a tough time right now, this might be helpful. So I’m taking all the positive out of this and really honestly see it as something that makes me stronger in the end.

Hope this helps, and maybe gave you a new perspective on things.
