About this listen

Host Shawn McGuire Meeks opens this episode of Conjuring the Human Spirit with a Marcus Aurelius quote and a three-part roadmap for being a good human: " Waste no more time arguing about what a good human should be and simply be one."

Phase one, an inward “audit” using the “lay your head down on the pillow” test and check-ins to review honesty, mistakes, and quick amends, plus shadow work to integrate hidden traits like anger or selfishness.

Phase two, building “architecture” through 3–5 non-negotiable core values (Shawn cites authenticity, community, and connection), alignment, boundaries, truth telling, commitment, and chosen discipline.

Phase three, “output,” living these values through presence, listening, and giving rather than getting.

Shawn encourages choosing a supportive tribe, offers weekly micro-challenges, and invites listeners to a 12-person “Magic of Listening” workshop at the farm March 20–22 (spring solstice), with details at McGuireLife.com.
