About this listen
Send us a Text Message.
After Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, he was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil for forty days. The devil tempted Jesus in three ways:
- He tempted Jesus to turn stones into bread to satisfy his hunger.
- He offered Jesus all the kingdoms of the world if Jesus would worship him.
- He challenged Jesus to jump off the highest point of the Temple and trust that God would protect him.
Each time, Jesus resisted the devil's temptation by quoting Scripture. He told the devil that man cannot live on bread alone, that he should worship only God, and that he should not put God to the test.
Three Important Points:
- The devil is real and he is a powerful force.
- The only way to defeat the devil is with the Word of God.
- Jesus is our example of how to resist temptation.
If you are struggling with temptation, we encourage you to:
- Read the Bible regularly.
- Pray for strength and guidance.
- Find a Christian friend or mentor who can help you.
