    In October 2005, beloved high school teacher Tara Grinstead vanished from her home, leaving behind a mystery that haunted her small Georgia town for years. Despite multiple suspects and dead ends, the case eventually went ice cold. More than a decade later, in 2016, filmmaker Payne Lindsey reignited public interest by investigating Tara’s disappearance in Season 1 of his true crime podcast Up and Vanished. The series quickly became a phenomenon—and by early 2017, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced an arrest in Tara’s case. Just ten days later, a second arrest followed.
